After all of that holiday shopping, I wouldn't mind a few freebies. TigerDirect wants to oblige. They are kicking off a New Year's sweepstakes, with over $11,000 in prizes.

Of course, you'll need to enter through the company's Facebook page, so you might want to check out the rules. Assuming you don't mind the fine print, you could walk away with a PC gaming package, a laptop package, a home entertainment package, or one of the many other prizes the retailer is offering.

No purchases are necessary. The contest ends on February 9, 2010, with winners being announced a day later. Good luck!

For a few measley bucks, you could soon be watching Hulu, playing World of Warcraft, and doing your taxes all with a 1080p screen.

NewEgg has a deal on the Acer H233Hbmid monitor. Assuming those taxes haven't bled you completely dry, this would be a nifty way to spend some of that government cheese. Punch in the code EMCLPPM59, and you'll get $10 off the already low price for a grand total of $199.

The 23-inch monitor includes a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a 40,000:1 contrast ratio, a 5ms response time, and a 160-degree viewing angle. A nice added bonus is that the unit also comes with its own HDMI cable.

Circuit City to Shutter on Sunday

Starting this Sunday, there will be another large, empty storefront in your town. According to Bloomberg, Circuit City will shut its doors for good this weekend.

The end date is slightly earlier than expected, because many locations are running out of inventory. The liquidation company had originally planned to finish out by the end of this month.

Apparently, the sale went well. Of course, not for everyone. Many bargain shoppers were complaining about prices and the extent of the "all sales final" policy. One Boston customer made national headlines after blowing $1,100 on a broken TV. Let the buyer beware of the final bargains!

Newegg-March-Giveaway

Nothing says love like a free TV. Newegg.com must love its customers very much, because they are giving away a TV each and every day for the entire month of March.

This isn't one of those teeny black-and-white models that you stuff on the kitchen counter, either. They are giving away 52-inch Samsung HDTVs -- 31 sets in total. All you have to do is visit the site, enter your name, address and some other info. Then you can come back every day, clicking like a mental patient to see if you've won.

As an added bonus, each winner also gets a Rosewill wall mount and a Belkin HDMI cable. On April 1, the site will choose one grand prize winner that can laugh in the face of the other winners -- because they will score a $10,000 home theater system, which includes a 63-inch Samsung plasma and a surround system with Polk and Onkyo goodies.

Dell is selling its Inspiron Mini 9 for $199 for one day only.

Of course, that day is today, kids, so if you're contemplating a new laptop, you'd better hop off the fence and let your fingers do the walking over to Dell.com.

For $199, you're probably not going to parlay this thing into a "world's greatest hacker" title. However, you could be one of the world's cheapest.

Running on Ubuntu Linux, the unit features an 8.9-inch LCD with a 1024 x 600 resolution, 512MB of RAM, a 4GB solid state drive, Intel's GMA 950, and built-in Wi-Fi.

The price is for the basic black, too. Any add-ons, color options, or accessories will run you extra. Technabob says that the deal will turn into a pumpkin come 11:59 p.m. (CST) tonight. -- Rachel Cericola
