Amazon Launches Big Blu-ray Sale

First-Blood.jpg

If you've got a few extra bucks burning a hole in your pocket and a hankering for a Rambo marathon, swing by Amazon.com. The site has launched a massive Blu-ray sale.

We say massive, because there's supposedly 379 titles up for grabs. Count if you must, but no matter how many titles they have, most of them are going for $15 to $20. It's cheap-ish, but those purchases can add up pretty quickly. Still, there are a few impulse buys (did we mention Rambo?) available for $9.99. Here are other favorites, at sample prices...

  • The Departed: $17.49
  • Iron Man: $16.99
  • Lost - The Complete Fourth Season: $43.99
  • Mad Men - Season One: $24.49
  • Ratatouille: $19.49
  • Sleeping Beauty: $22.49
  • Transformers: $19.49
  • Tropic Thunder: $16.99
  • Wall-E: $19.49

Circuit City to Shutter on Sunday

circuit-liquidation

Starting this Sunday, there will be another large, empty storefront in your town. According to Bloomberg, Circuit City will shut its doors for good this weekend.

The end date is slightly earlier than expected, because many locations are running out of inventory. The liquidation company had originally planned to finish out by the end of this month.

Apparently, the sale went well. Of course, not for everyone. Many bargain shoppers were complaining about prices and the extent of the "all sales final" policy. One Boston customer made national headlines after blowing $1,100 on a broken TV. Let the buyer beware of the final bargains!

Deal Fodder: Dell Mini is $199

dell-inspiron-mini9

Dell is selling its Inspiron Mini 9 for $199 for one day only.

Of course, that day is today, kids, so if you're contemplating a new laptop, you'd better hop off the fence and let your fingers do the walking over to Dell.com.

For $199, you're probably not going to parlay this thing into a "world's greatest hacker" title. However, you could be one of the world's cheapest.

Running on Ubuntu Linux, the unit features an 8.9-inch LCD with a 1024 x 600 resolution, 512MB of RAM, a 4GB solid state drive, Intel's GMA 950, and built-in Wi-Fi.

The price is for the basic black, too. Any add-ons, color options, or accessories will run you extra. Technabob says that the deal will turn into a pumpkin come 11:59 p.m. (CST) tonight. -- Rachel Cericola
