I will gladly buy your product and purchase related subscriptions if you do the following:

* Provide HD-quality streaming and 5.1 surround sound. No more of this crappy standard def, 2.0 nonsense. Watching Amazon Unbox movies hurts me. Deeply.

* Stream to multiple devices, not just your own stupid box.

* Have a ridiculously good selection (I'm looking at *you* Netflix), including new releases. In fact, I'll pay a premium for access to new stuff. But YOU BETTER NOT LIMIT MY VIEWING WINDOW TO 24 HOURS. I'm buying a subscription, not a rental.

Like Mac, I find the netflix streaming library lacking. Aside from some NBC shows, there's very little new stuff. I'm not ready to add an apple tv or anything. But netflix needs to get to that level before they consider a streaming only plan.

According to Netflix, I think they need money to add more titles. However, I agree with everyone. While 12,000 titles is nothing to sneeze at, I have to assume that 10,000+ are total crap.

@Jeff: I love my AppleTV because the content and the *quality* of the content are excellent. The one thing that's missing is a subscription plan (and DRM-free material ... but I'll save my anti-DRM rant for another day).

It's closer to 11k. The streaming selection is like wandering through a bankrupt video store.

I perused the Netflix video store on my friend's Xbox and didn't find much worth watching. I have a VUDU Box and prefer their selection to that of Netflix.

And I agree with Mac's post about limiting viewing periods and extension. The studios crack down on this so much though that it is hard for companies to bend the rules and allow longer watch times or ports to other devices.
